EPS warning light does not illuminate with ignition at ON.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

•  EPS warning light circuit malfunction in the instrument cluster.

•  An error originates from the EPS control module, and the “off” signal is generated.

―  EPS control module malfunction.

―  Communication error between EPS control module and instrument cluster.

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR ELSEWHERE • Turn on all warning lights and indicator lights using the instrument cluster PID ‘’WL+IL’’ of active command modes function using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) • Does the EPS warning light turn on according to simulation function?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2	CONFIRM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC • Retrieve the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) • Is there any DTC retrieved?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	CONFIRM EPS CONTROL MODULE DTC • Retrieve the EPS control module DTC using the M-MDS. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) • Is there any DTC retrieved?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)
3		No	Replace the EPS control module. (See EPS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
