DETECTION CONDITION

Communication error to rain sensor/auto light sensor
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Open circuit in wiring harness between auto light/wiper control module terminal U and rain sensor/auto light sensor terminal C
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between auto light/wiper control module terminal U and rain sensor/auto light sensor terminal C
• Short to ground in wiring harness between auto light/wiper control module terminal U and rain sensor/auto light sensor terminal C
• Rain sensor/auto light sensor malfunction
• Auto light/wiper control module malfunction

INSPECT RAIN SENSOR/AUTO LIGHT SENSOR CONNECTOR
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the rain sensor/auto light sensor connector.
• Inspect the rain sensor/auto light sensor connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT AUTO LIGHT/WIPER CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the auto light/wiper control module connector.
• Inspect the auto light/wiper control module connector terminal for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT RAIN SENSOR/AUTO LIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect for continuity between auto light/wiper control module terminal U (wiring harness-side) and rain sensor/auto light sensor terminal C (wiring harness-side).
• Is there continuity?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 6.
|

|
INSPECT RAIN SENSOR/AUTO LIGHT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Inspect for continuity between auto light/wiper control module terminal U (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT RAIN SENSOR/AUTO LIGHT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
• Connect the negative battery cable.
• Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
• Measure the voltage between auto light/wiper control module terminal U (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is the voltage B+?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to power supply, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the rain sensor/auto light sensor, then go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Perform the auto light/wiper control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
• Is DTC U2030 displayed?
|
Yes
|
Replace the auto light/wiper control module.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
