Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Activate the O/D OFF switch 3 times.
• Does the O/D OFF indicator light illuminate ON and OFF?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Perform symptom troubleshooting No.26 “O/D OFF INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN O/D OFF SWITCH IS TURNED TO ON”, or No.27 “O/D OFF INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHEN O/D OFF SWITCH IS NOT TURNED TO ON”.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
When the selector lever is moved, does the selector indicator light indication correspond to the lever location?
Also, when other ranges are selected from N or P during idling, does the vehicle move within 1—2 s?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Inspect the selector lever.
(See SELECTOR LEVER INSPECTION.)
Repair or replace malfunctioning areas.

Inspect the ATF color and condition.
Are the ATF color and odor normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the ATX.
Flush the ATX and cooler line if necessary.
|

Perform the line pressure test.
Is the line pressure normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Adjust the accelerator cable if necessary.
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

Perform the stall test.
Is the stall speed normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

Inspect the value at the following PCM PIDs using the M-MDS.

• APP1
• APP2
• TR
• TRD

• TSS
• VPWR

Are the PID values normal?

Yes

Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.

No
|
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
