Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

Oxygen Sensor Replacement:

1. Remove oxygen sensor connector (G3/2x1). Turn union nut to the left until stop, then remove.
2. Unscrew oxygen sensor (G3/2) with ring wrench socket (special tool# 000 589 71 03 00 or equivalent).
3. Coat threads of new oxygen sensor (G3/2) with hot lubricating paste (part# 000 989 88 51 or equivalent).
4. Install in reverse order, tighten oxygen sensor to 50 - 60 Nm (37 - 44 ft lb).
5. Extract and reset fuel injection control module diagnostic trouble code memory.

NOTE: Stored trouble codes may be caused by detached cables or repair work.
