Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair

Ignition Control Module Replacement:





1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Detach vacuum connection (4).
3. Unplug coaxial connector for control cable from crankshaft position sensor (2).
4. Unplug 8-pin connector (A).
5. Unplug 8-pin connector (B).
6. Unplug 3-pin connector, knock sensors (1).
7. Unplug reference resistor (R16/2).
8. Remove fastening nuts for ignition control module (N1/3), note washer.
9. Remove ignition control module (N1/3).
10. Install in reverse order.

NOTE: Heat conducting paste has been applied to the rear of the control module. The paste is covered with a heat-conducting protective foil for improved heat dissipation. The protective foil must not be removed.
