Distributor: Service and Repair

Distributor Replacement:

1. Remove distributor cover (18) by lifting it upwards.
2. Mark and remove the ignition wires.
3. Unscrew the retaining screws and carefully remove the distributor cap (15) with shielding cap (16).

CAUTION: The distributor cap carbon contact may be damaged if impacted against the ignition rotor.

Distributor Rotor (13):

4. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the ignition rotor (13).
5. Loosen the mounting screw and remove the follower (14).
6. Remove cover (17).
7. Check condition of O-ring (17a), replace as needed.

Follower Groove (14a) And Locating Pin (arrow):

8. Install in reverse manner. Pay attention to locating pin (arrow) and follower groove (14a) when installing the rotor.
