Mercedes-Benz has very specific engine lubrication requirements and only oils that have a MB approval number and the approved viscosity ranges are to be used when servicing your engine. The MB approval number will be marked on the oil container

276 MB Approval Number 229.3 or 229.5
Approved Viscosities 0W-40, 5W-30, 5W-40

Select oil viscosity grades according to the lowest and highest air temperature expected before next oil change
