Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

Manual Lever Position (MLP) Switch

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air inlet tube.

2. Remove the nut securing the manual shaft lever to the transaxle manual shaft.






3. Remove the lever from the manual shaft.

4. Turn the manual shaft to the neutral position.

5. Loosen the MLP switch mounting bolts.

6. Align the hole of the MLP switch with the hole on the manual shaft lever by inserting a 2.0 mm (0.079 inch) OD pin.






7. Tighten the MLP switch mounting bolts to 8-11 Nm (69-95 lb-in). Remove the pin.

8. Recheck the continuity of the MLP switch. Refer to Service and Repair

9. If the continuity is incorrect, replace the MLP switch.

10. Position the manual shaft lever to the manual shaft and install the manual shaft nut. Tighten the manual shaft nut to 44-64 Nm (33-47 lb-ft).

11. Install the air cleaner assembly and air inlet tube.
