Brake Pad: Testing and Inspection

Checking Thickness Of Brake Lining

Special Tools Required:
- 341 260

Note: The thickness of the outer brake linings can be determined without removing the wheels.

If necessary, move the vehicle until the aperture for the brake lining wear indicator (brake lining) is visible through the rim styling.





Insert special tool 34 1 260 through the rim and into recess for brake lining wear indicator.

Press special tool to brake lining, slide ring (1) in direction of arrow to the peg and read off measured value. In this case a brake pad thickness of 6 mm is measured.

(B) brake lining
