Replacing Shifting Unit




23 11 310 - Replacing shifting unit





Special tools required:
- 23 4 010





Note:
After completion of work, check gear oil level Service and Repair.

Important!
Use only the approved gear oil.

Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the manual transmission.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Shift gears to neutral
- Remove battery housing
- Release load on left transmission support block from below with jack





Installation:
Replace nut.

Release bolts, tightening torque 22 32 1AZ / 3AZ .

Remove transmission support block (1) and bump stops (2).





Remove cables (1) with special tool 23 4 010 from ball pins and disengage from brackets (2).





Installation:
Clean thread pitches.

Replace microencapsulated screws.

Apply Loctite 5203 sealing compound.

Unfasten screws.

Tightening torque 23 41 2AZ .

Pull shifting unit up and out of transmission.

Note installation position.
