EGR Temperature Sensor

EGR Temperature Sensor Location:

The EGR temperature sensor, located on the EGR valve, monitors whether or not the EGR valve is operating. It uses a thermistor whose resistance changes in response to temperature. The greater the temperature the lower the resistance. The ECU compares the resistance value to a preprogrammed map in its memory. It compares the signal to this map to confirm that the EGR valve is operating. It is used for self-diagnosis purposes only.
