Coil Secondary Test

1. Disconnect high tension lead from coil, and connect an ohmmeter between high tension tower and negative terminal on coil.
2. Resistance should measure 8,200-12,400 ohms on models with external IC unit and Stanza models with internal IC unit, 8,000-12,000 ohms on 1984-86 200SX models with internal IC unit, or 7,300-1 1,000 ohms on all other models with internal unit
3. If resistance is not within specification, replace coil.
