1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner and heat stove pipe.
2. Disconnect PCV valve and hose at TBI unit, then drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect fuel line and all vacuum hoses that will interfere with manifold removal.
4. Disconnect all electrical connections, then the throttle linkage from TBI unit.
5. Disconnect downshift and cruise control linkage, if applicable.
6. Disconnect throttle linkage and bellcrank and position aside.
7. Disconnect heater hose, then remove upper power steering pump bracket and ignition coil.
8. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Torque bolts to specification in sequence shown in Fig. 6.
