MODEL AND YEAR 1981-1984 PONTIAC T1000 MODELS
EQUIPPED WITH 1.6L GASOLINE ENGINE AND BOTH POWER STEERING AND AIR CONDITIONING
TO: ALL PONTIAC DEALERS
To avoid a potential for the crankshaft pulley bolt to fracture on 1981-84 Pontiac T1000 models equipped with a 1.6L gasoline engine, air conditioning and power steering, the crankshaft pulley attachment on these models will be replaced. A fracture of the crankshaft pulley bolt may allow the accessory drive pulley to separate from the crankshaft causing a loss of engine power and power steering assist.
In addition, General Motors is offering reimbursement for owner incurred repair expense due to a previous pulley bolt fracture on these same models. Eligibility for reimbursement is described in this bulletin..
