Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Raise vehicle.
2. Disconnect vehicle speed sensor (VSS) lead from transaxle.
3. Remove governor housing bolts and housing.
4. Remove VSS cover bolts, cover and gasket.
5. Remove VSS and "O" ring.

INSTALLATION

1. Install VSS and new "O" ring. Lubricate "O" ring. Note: All automatic transaxle vehicle speed sensors have eight rotor teeth.
2. Install VSS cover, gasket and bolts.
3. Install governor housing and bolts.
4. Connect VSS lead to transaxle.
5. Lower vehicle.
