Service Manual - Revised Scan Tool Data And Definitions

File In Section: 6E - Engine Fuel & Emission

Bulletin No.: 51-65-68

Date: October, 1995

SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

Subject:
Section 6E3 - Driveability and Emissions - Revised Scan Tool Data and Typical Scan Tool Data Definitions

Models:
1995 Chevrolet Cavalier
1995 Pontiac Sunfire
with 2.3L Engine (VIN D - RPO LD2)

This bulletin is being issued to update Section 6E3 of the 1995 "J" Series Service Manual Book 2 of 2 and the 1995 "J" Series Service Manual Update. Corrections are required to the Scan Tool Data and Typical Scan Tool Data Definitions pages.

The words "Active" and "Inactive", when used to describe the GEN "L" amp circuit, are reversed. When the scan tool indicates "Active", the PCM is actively disabling the generator from working. When the scan tool indicates "Inactive", the PCM is not interfering with generator operation but is still monitoring it on this circuit.

The Scan Tool Data-Engine 1 Data should be revised as follows on the following manual pages:

^ 1995 "J" Series Service Manual Book 2 of 2 - page 6E3-A-11

^ 1995 "J" Series Service Manual Update - page 6E3-A-13
