Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Check CTSY and TURN B/U Fuses.
2. Be certain to verify proper Power Door Lock functionality before testing Remote Keyless Entry system diagnosis.
3. Check that transmitter battery terminals are clean and make good contact with the Battery.
4. Try a second transmitter if available. If the second transmitter works, remove the Battery and install the Battery (Duracell # DL2016 or equivalent) in the original transmitter. Try the original transmitter again. If the original transmitter still does not work, it is defective.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. Tiles circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.

^ Perform the System Check and refer to the Symptom Tabloe for the appropriate diagnostic procedure(s).
