Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Raise vehicle and suitably Support.

2. Catalytic converter to muffler clamp.

3. Front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold retaining bolts and springs.

4. Catalytic converter flange retaining bolts to hanger.

5. Front exhaust pipe/converter from vehicle.


Install or Connect
1. Position front exhaust pipe and converter to exhaust manifold and insert converter outlet to muffler.

2. Catalytic converter flange to hanger bolts.Tighten Bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb. ft.).

3. Front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolt and springs. Tighten Bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft.).

4. Catalytic converter to muffler clamp. Tighten Clamp bolt to 68 Nm (50 lb. ft.).

5. Lower vehicle.
