Engine Block Heater: Testing and Inspection

If the engine coolant heater fails to heat the coolant, check all electrical connections before proceeding.
1. Check for 110 volt AC external power source.
2. Check continuity and shorts to ground of engine block heater cord. Replace cord as required.
3. The heating element should indicate continuity with an ohm meter.
