Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Service:

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the TP sensor attaching screws (2) and retainers.
3. Remove the TP sensor (1).

Installation Procedure

Important: Install the new TP sensor attaching screws when replacing TP sensor.

1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed (idle) position, install the throttle position sensor (1) on the throttle body assembly.
2. Install the retainers and the two TP sensor screws (2). Tighten the screws to 2-4 Nm (18-35 lb. in.).
3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
