A/C Pressure Sensor

The A/C system has a pressure sensor mounted on the compressor/condenser hose assembly near the condenser connection. The sensor performs both low and high pressure cutout functions through an input to the PCM. No compressor mounted switches are used. The sensor is mounted on a service fitting and can be replaced without discharging the A/C system.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Electrical connection at the sensor.
3. Pressure sensor and discard the O-ring seal.
^ The sensor is mounted on a service fitting; do not discharge the system.

Install or Connect

1. New O-ring seal lubricated in clean 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Pressure sensor.

Tighten
^ Sensor to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

3. Electrical connection at the sensor.
4. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 16 Nm (12 lb ft).
