Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair






CAUTION: The Camshaft Position Sensor graphic illustrates the original factory installation. Do not route the new sensor pigtail as shown. Follow the Installation procedure below. Handle carefully to avoid damage to the sensor and pigtail. Route away from electronic components to avoid Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine drive belt.
3. Power steering pump assembly.
4. Electrical connector.
5. Remove the bolt.
6. Camshaft position sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Camshaft Position Sensor and tighten retaining bolt to 10 Nm (8 lb ft).
2. Electrical Connector.
3. Power steering pump.
4. Serpentine drive belt.
5. Negative battery cable.
