Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Capacity Specifications

If the refrigerant oil was removed from the A/C system during the recovery process or during the component replacement, the refrigerant oil must be replenished. Add the refrigerant oil as indicated.

Accumulator 3.55 oz (105 ml)
Compressor (see note) 2 oz (60 ml)
Condensor 1 oz (30 ml)
Evaporator 3 oz (90 ml)

NOTE: Replacement compressors do not have any oil in the compressor. Add the correct amount of oil to the replacement compressor before replacement.

NOTE: Remove the compressor crankcase drain bolt. Drain the oil from the compressor crankcase.
- If less than 1 oz (30 ml) is drained, add 2 oz (60 ml) to the new compressor.
- If more than 1 oz (30 ml) is drained, add the same amount that was drained to the new compressor.
- Up to 4 oz (120 ml) of oil may collect in the crankcase. When replacing a compressor, drain and measure the oil in the old compressor crankcase. Discard the old oil after recording the amount.
