Battery Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (2) at the battery.
2. Disconnect the positive cable (1) from the battery.
3. Remove the retainer bolt and retainer.




4. Remove the battery.
5. Remove the insulator (1) from the battery (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the insulator (1) to the battery (2).

2. Install the battery.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the battery retaining bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).




4. Connect the positive battery cable (1), then connect the negative battery cable (2).

Tighten
Tighten to bolts to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
