Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 34730 Fuel Pressure Gauge

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure. Service and Repair
3. Remove the trunk liner (1).
4. Remove the bolts from the access panel (2) for the fuel sender.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor.




6. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from the sender.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the new fuel tank pressure sensor into the fuel sender.




2. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel tank pressure sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Install the fuel sender access panel (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the trunk liner (1).
5. Install the fuel filler cap.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
