Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
2. Remove the throttle body.
3. Remove the throttle position (TP) sensor attaching screws (1).
4. Remove the TP sensor (2) and the seal (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed position, install the throttle position sensor (2) and the seal (3) onto the throttle body assembly.

IMPORTANT: Install new TP sensor attaching screws when replacing TP sensor.

2. Install the 2 TP sensor screws (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

3. Reinstall the throttle body.
4. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet resonator.
