P/S Pressure Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
2. Remove the power steering hose retainer nut (1) from the retainer (2).
3. Remove the pressure hose (4) from the power steering pump (1).
4. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the pressure hose (4) from the retainer (6).
6. Remove the pressure hose (4) from the power steering gear (5).
7. Remove the pressure hose (4) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Notice - Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends in Service Precautions.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the pressure hose (4) to the power steering gear (5).
Tighten
Tighten the pressure hose to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the pressure hose (4) to retainer (6).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Install the pressure hose (4) to the power steering pump (1).
Tighten the pressure hose to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the power steering hose retainer (2).
Tighten the retainer nut (1) to 5 Nm (45 inch lbs.).
6. Ensure the power steering hose has sufficient clearance from the exhaust manifold.
7. Install the drive belt to the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
8. Bleed the air from the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
