Scan Tool Data Definitions - Variable Effort Steering (VES)

The Data Display function contains a list of VES data parameters. A brief description of all VES data parameters available on the scan tool are listed below. The list is arranged in alphabetical order:
Steering Wheel Position: The scan tool displays 0 to 5 volts - the scan tool displays the position of the steering wheel in volts.

Vehicle Speed: Scan tool range 0-200 km/h/0-125 mph. This parameter displays the vehicle speed. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives reference pulses from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and converts them into km/h or mph for display.

VES Actuator Commanded: The scan tool displays milliAmps - This display indicates the feedback amperage of the VES Actuator when the actuator is commanded on.
