Knee Diverter: Service and Repair



Knee Bolster Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement Service and Repair




3. Remove the knee bolster bracket bolts at the IP.




4. Remove the knee bolster bracket bolts at the steering column support.
5. Remove the knee bolster from the IP.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the knee bolster bracket to the IP.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the knee bolster bracket bolts at the steering column support.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





3. Install the knee bolster bracket bolts at the IP.

Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement Service and Repair
5. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) .
