Torque Converter: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the torque converter cover(s). Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement.
3. Remove the flywheel to torque converter bolt(s).

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the flywheel to torque converter bolt(s).
^ Tighten the flywheel to torque converter bolt(s) to 63 Nm (47 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the torque converter cover(s). Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement.
3. Lower the vehicle.
