Mode Valve Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the HVAC module.
2. Remove the mode actuator linkage from the mode valve.




3. Remove the mode valve spring.




4. Remove the screw for the mode/defroster valve case cover retainer.
5. Remove the retainer.




6. Remove the mode/defroster valve case cover screws.
7. Remove the mode/defroster valve case cover.




8. Remove the mode valve (2) from the module case.
9. Inspect the mode valve for damage.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the mode valve (2) to the module case.




2. Install the mode/defroster valve case cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the mode/defroster valve case cover screws.

Tighten
Tighten the cover screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).




4. Install the mode/defroster valve case cover retainer.
5. Install the screw for the retainer.

Tighten
Tighten the retainer screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).




6. Install the mode valve spring.




7. Install the mode actuator linkage to the mode valve.
8. Install the HVAC module.
