Fog Lamp Aiming Procedure

VEHICLE PREPARATION PROCEDURE




Use the following procedure in order to prepare the vehicle for inspecting/adjusting aim:
1. Place the vehicle on a level pad.
2. Close the doors.
3. Verify that the fuel tank is full.
4. Ensure that the vehicle has no load other than the driver or equivalent weight.
The average driver load is 75 kg (165 lbs).
5. Rock the vehicle sideways in order to stabilize the suspension.

INSPECTING/ADJUSTING AIM PROCEDURE
1. Adjust the headlamp aiming by turning the adjusting wheel from behind assembly (1) until the pattern aligns on the screen.
2. Ensure that the headlamp aim meets the following specifications:
^ The top edge of the high intensity zone (4) should be 100 mm (4 in) below the centerline of the lamps (2).
^ The center of the high intensity zone should be on the vehicle centerline of the lamps when projected on a screen from a distance of 7.6 m (25 ft).
Refer to graphic for proper aiming of a fog lamp from the above distance.
