Front Side Door Lock Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Remove the inside handle rods from the front door inside handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Disconnect the clip securing the outside handle rod to the front door lock.




5. Remove the screws from the front door lock.




6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lock.




7. Remove the lock with the inside handle rods attached to the lock through the access hole in the front door inner panel.




8. Remove the inside handle rods from the lock.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the inside handle rods to the lock.




2. Install the lock in the position through the access hole in the front door inner panel.




3. Connect the electrical connectors to the front door lock.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




4. Install the lock screws to the front door lock.

Tighten the lock screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




5. Connect the clip securing the outside handle rod to the front door lock.
6. Install the door handle rods to the inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
8. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. Service and Repair
9. Inspect the door lock system for the proper operation.
