Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement (Pontiac)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling And Storage Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Remove the trim pad from the instrument panel (IP).
2. Disconnect the inflator module connector.
3. Turn over the IP and remove the IP nuts from the inflator restraint module.
4. Remove the inflatable restraint module (1) from the IP.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the inflatable restraint module (1) to the instrument panel (IP).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the IP nuts to the inflatable restraint module.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the inflatable restraint module connector.
4. Install the trim pad to the IP.
