Headliner Replacement (Aztek)

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
2. Reposition the front door opening weather-strips.
3. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
4. Remove the overhead console.Console Replacement - Overhead (Rendezvous) (Console Replacement - Overhead)Console Replacement - Overhead (Aztek) (Console Replacement - Overhead)
5. Remove the upper center trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
7. Remove the left and the right lamps from the roof side rail. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement .
8. Reposition the liftgate weather-strips.




9. Use J 38778 in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
10. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the headliner to the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
2. Push the headliner rearwards in order to lock the headliner into place.




3. Install the rear headliner push-in retainers.
4. Reposition the liftgate weather-strips.
5. Install the left and the right lamps from the roof side rail. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement .
6. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
7. Install the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the rear headliner trim finishing molding.
9. Install the overhead console.Console Replacement - Overhead (Rendezvous) (Console Replacement - Overhead)Console Replacement - Overhead (Aztek) (Console Replacement - Overhead)
10. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
11. Reposition the front door opening weather-strips.
12. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
