Oil Cooler Inlet Line Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.





4. Remove the oil filter.





5. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.





6. Remove the oil cooler connector.





7. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler.





8. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose from the oil cooler hose fitting.





9. If necessary, remove the oil cooler hose fitting.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. If removed, install the oil cooler hose fitting.
Tighten the oil cooler hose fitting to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose to the oil cooler hose fitting.





3. Connect the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler. Ensure that the oil cooler seal is in place. Coat the seal with engine oil.





4. Install the oil cooler connector.
Tighten the oil cooler connector to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





5. Connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.




6. Install the oil filter.
7. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant.
10. Add engine oil as necessary.
11. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
