Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraints (SIR).
2. Remove the steering column trim cover.
3. Remove the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.





4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the multifunction switch (1).
5. Remove the multifunction switch (1) from the steering column (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Position the multifunction switch (1) on the steering column (2) while depressing the spring loaded horn pin.
2. Connect the electrical connectors to the multifunction switch (1).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.
^ Tighten the multifunction switch retaining screws to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
4. Install the steering column trim cover.
5. Enable the SIR system.
