Knee Diverter: Service and Repair



Knee Bolster Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Filler Replacement (Steering Column Filler Replacement) .




3. Remove the knee bolster bracket bolts at the IP.




4. Remove the knee bolster bracket bolts at the steering column support.
5. Remove the knee bolster from the IP.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the knee bolster bracket to the IP.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the knee bolster bracket bolts at the steering column support.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





3. Install the knee bolster bracket bolts at the IP.

Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Filler Replacement (Steering Column Filler Replacement) .
5. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) .
