Grille Replacement (Pontiac)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the hood close out filler panel.




3. Remove the park/turn signal bulb by depressing the lock tab and rotating the socket counterclockwise.




4. Remove the bolt that retains the lamp bracket to the upper tie bar.
5. Remove the screw that retains the grille assembly to the fascia.
6. Remove the lamp housing with the grille assembly from the vehicle.




7. Remove the push retainer that secures the grille to the lamp assembly.
8. Remove the screws that retain the grill to the lamp assembly.

Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the screws that retain the grille assembly to the park/turn lamp.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




2. Install the push retainer that secures the grill to the lamp assembly.




3. Position the lamp assembly with the grille to the vehicle.
4. Install the grill screw to the grill.

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Install the bolt that retains the lamp bracket to the upper tie bar.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (7 lb ft).




6. Install the park/turn signal bulb by rotating the socket clockwise until the locking tab locks.
7. Install the hood close out filler panel.
8. Close the hood.
