Tire Rotation

Tire Rotation

In order to equalize tire wear, rotate the tires at the specified intervals. Refer to Scheduled Maintenance. In addition to scheduled rotation, rotate the tires whenever you notice uneven tire wear.
Radial tires tend to wear faster in the shoulder area, particularly in front positions. Radial tires in non-drive locations may develop an irregular wear pattern that can generate tire noise. This makes regular tire rotation especially necessary.
1. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
2. If the tire design is directional, rotate the 4 tires as shown.
Verify the text on the tire sidewall indicates the correct side facing outwards.
Verify the directional arrow on the tire sidewall indicates the direction of forward rotation of the tire.

3. If the tire design is non-directional, rotate the 4 tires as shown.
4. Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
5. Measure the tire pressure. Adjust the tire pressure if necessary. Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications.
