Steering Wheel Control Switch Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
2. Remove the steering wheel inflatable restraint module.





3. Remove the bolts (1) from the steering wheel cover and lift the steering wheel cover from the steering wheel.
4. Remove the steering wheel radio controls (2) from the steering wheel cover.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the radio control switches.





6. Remove the screws (1) from the A/T tap shift switches, if equipped.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Remove the tap shift switches (2).

Installation procedure





1. Install the A/T tap shift switches (2).
2. Connect the electrical connectors.

3. Notice: Install the screws (1) to the tap shift switches.

Tighten the screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).





4. Connect the electrical connectors to the radio control switches.
5. Install the steering wheel radio controls (2) to the steering wheel cover.
6. Position the steering wheel cover to the steering wheel. Install the bolts (1) to the steering wheel cover.
^ Tighten the bolts to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).
7. Install the steering wheel inflatable restraint module.
8. Enable the SIR System.
