Disc Brake Backing Plate Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the park brake shoes and the hardware. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement in Park Brake. Service and Repair
2. Remove the bolt and the park brake cable (1) from the backing plate.
3. Remove the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FWD) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (AWD) in Rear Suspension.
4. Remove the backing plate.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the backing plate with the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FWD) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (AWD) in Rear Suspension.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the park brake cable (1) and the bolt to the backing plate.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 lb in).
3. Install the park brake shoes and the hardware. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement in Park Brake.
