Input Shaft Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the input shaft speed (ISS) sensor electrical connector.





3. Remove the ISS sensor retaining bolt.
4. Remove the ISS sensor from the transaxle.

Installation Procedure





1. Important:
Lubricate the O-ring with ISU DEXRON III.

Install a new O-ring on the ISS sensor.

2. Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the ISS sensor and retaining bolt into the transaxle case.

Tighten the ISS sensor retaining bolt to 5.4 Nm (48 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the ISS sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
