Output Shaft Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.





3. Remove the OSS sensor retaining bolt.
4. Remove the OSS sensor from the transaxle.

Installation Procedure





1. Important:
Lubricate the O-ring with T-IV Automatic Transmission Fluid GM P/N 88900925 (Canadian P/N 22689186).

Install a new O-ring on the OSS sensor.

2. Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the OSS sensor and retaining bolt into the transaxle.

Tighten the OSS sensor retaining bolt to 7.4 Nm (65 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the OSS sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
