Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the hood.
2. Remove the push-in retainers (1) from the hood latch closeout panel.




3. Remove the hood latch closeout panel from the vehicle.




4. Access the outside air temperature sensor through the hood latch opening.
5. Pull the outside air temperature sensor from the radiator air baffle.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
7. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the sensor to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
3. Install the outside air temperature sensor to the radiator air baffle.




4. Position the hood latch closeout panel to the vehicle.




5. Install the push-in retainers (1) to the hood latch closeout panel.
6. Close the hood.
7. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) for approximately one and a half minutes or at a speed of 72 km/h (45 mph) for approximately one minute in order to obtain the outside air update.
