Engine Block Heater Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Unclip the heater wire harness from the headlamp tab (1).
2. Unclip the heater wire harness below on the outside of the battery (2).




3. On vehicles with automatic transmission, unclip the heater wire harness (1), from the main wire harness.




4. On vehicles with manual transmission, unclip the heater wire harness from the main wire harness (1).




5. Unclip the heater cartridge from the engine block.

Installation Procedure




1. Fully seat the heater cartridge against the engine block and ensure the clip snaps in place. The final wire harness should be in the 8 o'clock position. The final retaining clip location should be in the 3 o'clock position.
2. Route the wire harness along the rear of the engine aligned with the heater hose tube.
3. Ensure the wire harness cartridge plug is fully seated onto the cartridge.
4. Ensure the main wire harness clip is fully seated.




5. On vehicles with manual transmission, route the heater wire harness (1) as shown.




6. On vehicles with automatic transmission, route the heater wire harness (1), as shown.




7. Tuck the heater wire harness below the junction box on the outside of the battery.
8. Tuck the 110 volt heater plug in the space in between the battery and headlamp assembly (1).
9. Clip the heater wire harness on the outside of the battery (2).
10. Ensure that the 110 volt plug tie-strap securely holds the wire bundle and the protector cap is fully seated on the plug.
