Generator Replacement (With RPO Code LE5)

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner resonator.
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Remove the radiator inlet hose.
5. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).
6. Reposition the rubber boot (3).
7. Remove the engine harness terminal lead to generator nut (2).
8. Remove the engine harness terminal (4) from the generator stud.




9. Remove the generator bolts.
10. Remove the generator.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the generator to the engine block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the generator bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




3. Install the engine harness terminal (4) to the generator stud.
4. Install the engine harness terminal lead to generator nut (2).

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

5. Position the rubber boot (3) over the stud.
6. Connect the generator electrical connector (1).
7. Install the drive belt.
8. Install the radiator inlet hose.
9. Install the air cleaner resonator.
10. Connect negative battery cable.
