Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Locate the vessel for containing engine oil beneath drain plug of the vehicle.
3. Remove the oil drain (2) carefully.
4. Drain the engine oil.




5. Remove the oil filter cap (1).
6. Remove the oil filter.

Installation Procedure





Note: Do not re-use the engine oil filter.

1. Install the new oil filter.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the oil filter cap (1).

Tighten the oil filter cap to 25 Nm (18.4 lb ft).





Note: Refer to engine oil specifications and refill with the recommended engine oil and quantity.

3. Install the drain plug (2).

Tighten the drain plug to 9 Nm (79.7 lb in).

4. Open the oil filling cap.
5. Refill the new engine oil.
