Compressor Pressure Relief Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).

Note: Cap or tape the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.

2. Remove the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZE, LZ4, LZ9) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LE5) (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the high pressure relief valve.

Installation Procedure

1. Remove the cap or tape from the A/C compressor.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the high pressure relief valve.

Tighten the valve to 8 Nm (70 lb in).

3. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZE, LZ4, LZ9) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LE5) (Service and Repair).
4. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
