Coolant Heater Replacement




Coolant Heater Replacement (3.6L)

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (3.6 L) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (6.0 L) (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the engine covers. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Disconnect the coolant heater cord electrical connector (1).





Note: Do not score the surface of the engine block hole (2) when removing the coolant heater (1).

5. Remove the coolant heater (1) from the engine block (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the coolant heater (1) to the engine block (2).




2. Connect the coolant heater cord electrical connector (1).
3. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (3.6 L) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (6.0 L) (Service and Repair).
4. Install the engine covers. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
